Update

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Thank you for all of your support in prayer and financial giving. It has been a blessing to be able to serve the people of Northwestern Nebraska. We had a good camping season this year, we had some new kids, and praise God for the 8 decisions that were made.

A while back American Missionary Fellowship asked us to consider going to another camp to serve based on their evaluation done of the Northwest Nebraska field. They thought it best to close the field and told us to look for another ministry either with them or with another missionary organization. After much praying and seeking God’s will in this matter, we decided to resign from American Missionary Fellowship.

We feel called to this area, so would like to stay put and work with the youth and people here. Sarah is currently working at the school and I have been doing activities
with the 8 – 10 teens we have been working with while looking locally for a job.  At this point we’re not sure what the Lord has in mind. We just know we want to do what He wants us to.

Once again, thank you for partnering with us in sharing the gospel.

What's going on

We had a great summer and it was very busy. It was a blessing to get to work with some amazing people at camp this year. Pastor Mike Clement, Pastor Phil Ransom, Steve Sommer, Nick Bumgardner, Brenda Yuill, and Sarah Yuill. We had 8 decisions for Christ this year, praise God. Thank you to all of the parents that sent their youth to Victory Heights Bible Camp this year.

We have been seeking God's will for our future, because AMF has decided to close our field and told us to look for another ministry. AMF wants us to move to another location to another field. We have been praying and looking at what options we had, and we feel as though God has called us to stay in the area. We are looking at helping Hope Baptist Church here in Rushville, where we will continue to work with the youth in this area as missionaries along side Nick and Erika.

Pray with us as we head down this new path. We will let you all know more about what is going on soon. Be looking for a letter in the mail soon.

Junior Camp

Praise the Lord for a great week of Juniors. We had a great time sharing with them about a life that was worth living. We had 4-5 decisions on Monday night, we did lots of counseling throughout the week.

The majority of the youth that were there, praise God, have never been to church any where or heard about the precious gift God has to offer.

There were a lot of questions asked, lots of talking going on, and we all had a great time.

The camping season is here. I am looking forward to ministering to the youth that God will bring to camp this year. We have had a lot of calls about camp so if all the youth show up, we will be full.

I am also excited to see what God has for us in the future as we seek his will.

Pray that the youth that come to camp will listen to the Word of God. Pray that they will have fun and be safe too.

God helps in our times of need.

With the camping season coming up fast, and we are getting prepared for the youth that will be attending. We have been blessed to have some great speakers sign up for sharing with the youth. We are looking forward to what God will do.

In the mean time, we are very busy getting the camp ready to go. We have been doing some upgrades to the dorms. They are now insulated, and are being sheet rocked right now. In the girls dorm we have the entry wall to sheet rock and part of one side wall. Then we will finish the last of the ceiling. The boys dorm is coming along as well. We have 1/4 of the ceiling to go, the entry wall, the end wall and half of the side wall. It has been a slow process as we have a lot of cutting to do. We will be ready to start taping soon. We had 4 men come and help do some different things last Saturday. It was a blessing to have the extra help. We have had a couple of teens come out and help me with some work as well. It is nice to see them take an interest and to have fellowship with them.

We will be having another camp work day in the 16Th of this month. So if you would be interested in giving a helping hand it would be appreciated. There will be food provided.

We have been looking for two fridges for camp as well. The one that we have does not run cold enough. God has answered this need by providing two fridges. We just have to get them to camp sometime before the camping season. We also need to get the big one moved out of the kitchen and hauled off.

We have been working with some youth in Chadron as well. It has been great to see them grow in their understanding of God. It has been a small group but it has been a great group as well. Pray that we will meet their needs as we continue to minister to them, and pray that they will listen to what God is teaching them. We are starting a series on the love of God and how it effects our every day lives.

Camp Work day

We had a crew come to camp on the 18 and 19 to help hang some sheet rock. After making a trip to town to get some more supplies we were at last on our way. By the end of the first day the main ceiling in the boys dorm had been hung. The next day they started the girls dorm, putting up the 1x2 strips and then hanging the sheet rock. On the boys side we were able to get one of the angled ceilings done.

We still have a long way to go and we continue to push on. Thank you for all of your prayers and support in this matter.

God's teaching me patience

I had an appointment with the mechanic in town, so Andrew and I were up early and headed into town. We got there and dropped off the car and were told it would not be too long, so off we headed to the coffee shop to get a drink. We got our drinks and walked over to the park and Andrew enjoyed playing, until the wind came up and he started getting cold. By now it has been an hour and we head back to the shop, only to find that nothing had been done yet. Off we head again, looking at the stores down town, and just walking. So after three and a half hours we go back and I am told by the mechanic that "I tried a new bulb and it does not work still" which is what I had told them I had already done. Well it was their lunch time so off Andrew and I had to go again, so we went and found some lunch. At this point I call Sarah and let her know what is going on, and Andrew and I head back to the shop. Now the mechanic asks me what I would do. So I walk back there and explain my theory as to why it does not work. By this time I was tired of walking all over town with a little boy that was getting tired and cranky, so we called mommy to come and save us.

I did not make it out to camp to get more work done as I was stuck in town, but we did get a chance to share about camp a little.

Off to the shop again and finally the car is done, they found a little wiring issue up under the hood. Great part about this though is I did not have to pay. So I check to see where they found the problem and sure enough it was at the spot I had pointed out. They even fixed another spot so now I do not have too.

God is good and some times we can get so caught up in our timing of things, that we do not see God at work. I am one that will push to get something done until it is done, and God tells me at times not to worry. Have we forgotten that he is in control? I pray that when things do not go as planned, that you will take the time to thank God and see him at work.

Ministry Update

So many things are going on right now and it is amazing to see God work through it all. We had a camp board meeting and voted to go ahead and start the projects needed to be done at camp. We have been working on the dorms at camp to get them ready for the upcoming camping season. We are tearing out some stuff and insulating, sheet rocking, and painting. We are also looking for some used fridges for camp, the fridge that is there is dying and it does not keep cold enough. The camp schedule will be finalized soon, and then it will be distributed to the churches and people of the area. Pray for the staff that will be needed at camp and the youth that God will bring to hear about his love and salvation. We could use donated food for camp as well to help keep the cost down for the campers.

On Wednesday nights we have been working with a youth group in Chadron and it has been good to get to know the youth better there and to see them grow. We had a bowling night in December where the youth tried to show off their skills. It was a lot of fun and the parents also got involved in their own game.

We have been working on deputation and we are so grateful for what God is doing in this area. We have been visiting several churches in this area: Gordon, Chadron, Alliance, Harrison, Crawford, Pleasant Point, and Hope Baptist in Rushville. Pray that we would have the opportunities to share with them about our ministry. We will be working on visiting all of the churches again. We would like to get to the churches more, but there are so many, and it feels good to be wanted at them all.

We will have a camp work day on February 18 and 19, if you would like to came and help, you are more than welcome. There will be food provided.

In Christ,
Brandon
